Eino J. Harju of Gilbert, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on November 17, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade and construction equipment mechanic in the Engineer Maintenance Company in the Ryukyu Islands.

Mr. Harju was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged February 14, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
