Elmer R. Gustafson of Cook, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on October 30, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade with the 453rd Engineer Company in the Pacific Theater.

He was awarded the: Army of Occupation Service Medal (Japan)  and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged February 7, 1947 at Fort Sheridan, Ill.
