Emil A. Harju

Emil A. Harju of Ely, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on September 11, 1941 .

He was a Staff Sergeant and mess sergeant in Company B, 30th Engineers, European and Pacific Theaters.

Mr. Harju was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged Nov. 9, 1945 at Fort Lewis, Wash.
