Erling L. Ovick

Erling L. Ovick was inducted into the Army on April 30, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Master Sergeant and operations sergeant with Headquarters Company of the 592nd Engineer Boat & Shore Regiment in New Guinea, Bismark Archipelago, Southern Philippines (Liberation), and Luzon.

Mr. Ovick was awarded the following: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Philippines Liberation Medal with two bronze battle stars, and four overseas service bars

He was honorably discharged August 24, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
