Ervin S. Worden entered the Army on May 9, 1943. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant and combat truck driver with the First Cavalry Division. He spent 23 months in New Guinea and the Philippines in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Worden was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and Philippines Liberation Medal with two bronze stars.

He was discharged on January 2, 1946.
