Ervin Salveson

Ervin Salveson entered the Army on February 15, 1944 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Halstad, Minnesota.

He was a Private First Class and rifleman with Battery B of the 463rd Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion in Rhineland and Central Europe.

He was wounded in action, once on January 15, 1945, and then again on March 15, 1945 in the European Theater.

He received the following: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on November 27, 1945 at Camp Roosevelt in France. He reenlisted in the Regular Army on November 28, 1945, and served as a Private First Class.

Mr. Salveson was honorably discharged on May 27, 1947 at Governor's Island, New York.
