BANTTARI, Felix Sylvester

Felix Sylvester Banttari was born on December 31st 1913 to Jacob & Hilma H. [Josephson] Banttari in Wing, North Dakota. The family later moved to Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Banttari enlisted for military service in September 1942. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on May 2nd 1944.

He served as a radar technician in the Radar Division in New London, Connecticut. He served on the USS Naval Ship PC-577. He rose to the rank of Seaman 2nd Class (S2c).

Seaman Banttari was honorably discharged on April 1st 1946. After the war he returned home and married Rose Evelyn [Leustek] on January 12th 1946 and they started a family.

Mr. Banttari died on February 20th 1991 at 77 years of age in Ramsey Co., Minnesota. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
