Mr. Bachel inducted into the Army on January 9, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
He served as a Technical Sergeant with the 3657th Quartermaster Truck Company of the 235th Quartermaster Battalion (Mobile) in Africa and Italy in Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley.
He received the following: Good Conduct Medal and Meritorious Service Unit Award.
Mr. Bachel was honorable discharged on September 28, 1945,at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
