Francis G. Lakoskey

Francis G. Lakoskey of Gheen enlisted in the Army on November 14, 1939 at Fort Snelling, Minn. 

He was a Private First Class with the 71st Armored Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop, Mechanized, in Rhineland and Central Europe.

Mr. Lakoskey received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged on November 20, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
