Frank F. Rahne

Frank F. Rahne entered the Army Air Corps on December 24, 1943. Home at entry: Mountain Iron, Minnesota.

He was a commissioned Second Lieutenant and served as a bombardier on B-17 aircraft in the European Theater.

Mr. Rahne shared the following:

"Flew two combat missions at high altitude over Germany. My mission objectives were to completely destroyed. I was shot down on my second mission and was held as a prisoner of war of Germany for 11 months."

He was relieved from active duty on October 22, 1945, at Fort MacArthur, California.
