PUTZEL, Frank Martin

Frank Martin Putzel was born on February 12th 1908 to Louis & Mary Putzel in Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Putzel was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 27th 1942 during WWII. He was a carpenter with Battery A, 1st Coast Artillery Battalion of Harbor Defense. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).

CPL Putzel earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • American Campaign Service Medal,  -and-
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

He was honorably discharged on October 5th 1945. After the war he returned home and married Leone [Masterson] on January 31st 1948.

Mr. Putzel died on April 6th 1951. He is buried at Eveleth Cemetery in Eveleth, Minnesota.
