Fred A. Patten entered the Navy on Nov. 3, 1940.

He was a Chief Petty Officer on the USS Paducah for anti-submarine patrol on the East Coast and with an anti-submarine torpedo detachment at the Naval Air Station at Quonset Point, R.I., and in the North Atlantic.

He was separated on Sept. 16, 1945.
