Fred W. Walkki

Fred W. Walkki entered the Army on August 3, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Iron Mountain, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and lineman with the 33rd Signal Construction Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

Mr. Walkki was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on October 24, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
