George E. Waris

George E. Waris entered the Army on June 13, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Embarrass, Minnesota.

Mr. Waris served as a Technician 5th Grade and grader operator with Company A of the 248th Engineer Combat Battalion in Northern France and Rhineland. He was wounded in action on September 29, 1944, in France.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Waris received a disability discharge on October 25, 1945, at Baxter General Hospital in Spokane, Washington.
