Henry Zeleznikar

Henry Zeleznikar enlisted in the Army on July 26, 1939, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Aurora, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Pacific Theater in New Guinea. He was wounded in action on December 8, 1944, at Sansapor, Netherlands East Indies.

He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, and World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Zeleznikar was honorably discharged on September 20, 1945, at Percy Jones Hospital Center, Fort Custer, Michigan.
