CHEEVER, Howard Eugene

Howard Eugene Cheever was born on November 27th 1920 to Paul & Clara [Schultz] Cheever.

Mr. Cheever of Hibbing, Minnesota enlisted in the U.S.Army on July 14th 1942.

He served as a tank maintenance with the 133rd Armored Ordnance Maintenance Battalion, 11th Armored Division, serving in Ardennes, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT). 

SGT Cheevee earned the followiing mertis for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal,
  • American Campaign Service Medal,  -and-
  • two overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged on January 28th 1946. He died on November 10th 2007 at the age of 86 years in Lakewood, Colorado.
