BOYNTON, Howard Lathon

Howard Lathon Boynton was born on April 24th 1918 to Bruce & Emma Lillian [Spain] Boynton in Virginia, Minnesota.

Mr. Boynton entered the U.S. Navy on September 23rd 1940.

He served as a Chief Hospital Corpsman aboard the USS Paducah for one year and Navy armed guard for six months. He also served at the Pensacola Naval Hospital, Project Roses Base Hospital, and the University of Minnesota medical school staff.

He served in the Pacific Theater on Efate, New Hebrides Islands, and the base hospital in Guam. He rose to the rank of  Hospital Assistant 1st Class (HA1c).

HA1c Boynton was honorably discharged on November 23rd 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After the war he returned home and married Edith Doty [Johnson] and they started a family.

My Boynton died on September 27th 2006 in Duluth, Minnesota.
