Hugo H. Hanka

Hugo H. Hanka was inducted into the Army November 25, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Embarrass, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade and section hand with Company A of the 729th Railway Operations Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

Mr. Hanka was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged November 22, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
