Jalmer Maki

Jalmer E. Maki of Iron was inducted into Army on June 20, 1941.

He was a Corporal and an infantryman with Company D, 184th Infantry Regiment in the Aleutians, Eastern Mandates, Southern Philippines and Ryukyus. He was wounded in action in May 1945.

Mr. Maki was awarded the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on Oct. 18, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
