James E. O'Leary of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942.

He was a Master Sergeant in air operations with the Air Transport Command and 7th Ferrying Group, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

He says: "Air Transport Command supplied men, equipment and supplies for building the Alcan Highway and the 7th Ferrying Group delivered over 8,000 aircraft to the Russians for delivery to the Russian fronts. This was a top secret operation and little info was given out."

Mr. O'Leary received the: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was discharged on Nov. 20, 1945.
