SELLECK, James Edward

James Edward Selleck was born on Jun 26th 1923 to James Edward & Alice L [Gruell] Selleck in Duluth, Minnesota. He married Edna Marie Olsen in Superior, Wisconsin on December 28th 1943.

Mr. Selleck was inducted into the Naval Reserve on March 14th 1944 during World War II. The home at entry is listed as Duluth, Minnesota.

He served as a Navy Armed Guard (gun crew on Merchant ships) in the Pacific and Atlantic. He served aboard the USS South Dakota (BB57). He rose to the rank of Seaman First Class (S1/c).

Seaman Selleck was honorably discharged on January 17th 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After the war he returned home and they started a family.

Mr. Selleck died on November 6th 2009 in Duluth at the age of 86 years. He is buried at Maple Memorial Cemetery in Maple, Wisconsin.
