James Ferman Charles

James Ferman Charles enlisted in the Marine Corps November 1942.

He served as an Aviation Ordinanceman Second Class aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt as an air crewman and ordinanceman in the Atlantic.

Honorable discharged May 8, 1946.

He was assigned to the USS Franklin Delano Roosevelt; the Carrier Service Unit 27 (CASU-27); CASU-23; and CUB-42.

Mr. Charles’ rank was Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class.

He was discharged on May 8, 1946.

Mr. Charles was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1923, the son of James and Genevieve Charles. He graduated from West High School in June 1941.
