James W. Harris

James W. Harris, Sr. enlisted in the Army on June 2, 1942.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and wire chief with Company B of the 98th Signal Battalion and Signal Corps in New Guinea, South Philippines (Liberation) and Luzon.

Mr. Harris was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars; American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged Nov. 5, 1945 .
