John Bradovich

Mr. Bradovich served in World War II in the European Theater.

He served in the U.S. Army from March 1943 until December 1945. He was assigned to the 517th Parachute Infantry and operated out of Camp McCall, North Carolina. He received the Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge.

His rank was Private 1st Class.

Mr. Bradovich was born in Chisholm, Minnesota, to Nick and Martha Bradovich. He graduated from high school in 1942.

"I was a paratrooper who fought in Italy, and jumped in the invasion of south France on August 15, 1944. It was 4:00 a.m. when we jumped, and I was wounded on the 18th of August, 1944. I was hospitalized in Naples, Italy, in the 23rd general hospital, surgical ward."
