John E. Erickson

John E. Erickson of Gilbert, Minn. was inducted into the Army on July 25, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Private First Class and a messenger with Company G of the 377th Infantry Regiment in Northern France and Central Europe.

He was wounded in action by shrapnel.

Mr. Erickson was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on Oct. 3, 1945 at Camp Shelby, Miss.
