John E. Verrill

John E Verrill served in World War II in the European Theater.

Mr. Verrill enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941 served as part of the 85th Infantry until 1945. He remained in the Army Reserve until 1976, when he retired as a Colonel.

He was born June 16, 1916, in the Stevens Point, Wisconsin, area, the son of Milton and Elizabeth (Griffith) Verrill. He graduated from high school in Stevens Point.

Mr. Verrill died at age 91 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, on January 2, 2008.

He was decorated with the Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
