John E. Welsh

John E. Welsh was inducted into the Army on March 19, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

Mr. Welsh served as a Private First Class and a military policeman with the MP Platoon of the Sixth Armored Division in Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

He received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.

Mr. Welsh was honorably discharged on November 30, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
