John J. Elias

John J. Elias was inducted into the Army on Sept. 26, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Private First Class and truck driver.

He served in Hawaii and worked on the ALCAN highway construction for 13 months before he injured his back and returned to Camp Crowder, Mo. for a disability discharge on Dec. 11, 1944.

Mr. Elias was awarded the American Campaign Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
