John R. Novak

John R. Novak was inducted into the Army on February 26, 1943. Home at entry: Eveleth, Minnesota.

He was a Corporal in the 185th MP Company and an assistant squad leader in the Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and North Apennines campaigns in Italy. He was wounded in action on March 10, 1945 in Italy.

Mr. Novak received the: Purple Heart, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.

He was discharged at Camp McCoy, Wis. on October 25, 1945.
