John R. Tomes

John R. Tomes was inducted into the on Army October 11, 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

Mr Tomes served as a Technician Fifth Grade and postal clerk with the 17th Base Post Office in Normandy, Northern France.

He was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.

Mr Tomes was honorably discharged on November 12, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
