TILOCK, John Richard

John Richard Tilock was born on December 28th 1916 to Joseph & Katherine Tilock in Hibbing, Minnesota.

He entered the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in September 1943.

He served as a Corporal and automatic rifleman in the Central and Western Pacific. He was assigned to Co L, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division.

CPL Tilock participated in action against the enemy on Saipan, Marianna Islands from June 15th to July 9th 1944. He was honorably discharged September 1st 1945, in San Diego, California.

After the war he returned home and married Mary Katherine [Tomljenovich] and they started a family. Mr. Tilock died on July 20th 1974 at the age of 57 years. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
