John V. Novelan

John V. Novelan was inducted into the Army on March 12, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Eveleth, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and mess sergeant with Battery C of the 126th Field Artillery Battalion in New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Luzon.

Mr. Novelan was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star and six overseas service bars 

He was honorably discharged August 8, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
