Joseph J. Ranniker

Joseph J. Ranniker of Eveleth, Minneaota was inducted into the Army on Nov. 15, 1941.

He was a Private First Class and a truck driver for Service Company, 4th Tank Battalion at Algeria-French Morocco and Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and the Po Valley, Italy.

He was wounded in action on Oct. 30, 1944 in Italy.

Mr. Ranniker was awarded the: Purple Heart, Bronze Service Arrowhead, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with 6 bronze battle stars, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and 6 overseas service bars.

He was discharged on July 27, 1945.
