TECHAR, Joseph John

Joseph John Techar was born on February 17th 1910 in Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Techar was inducted into the Army on March 22nd 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota. 

Mr. Techar served in WWII as a Private and rifleman with Company K of the 399th Infantry Regiment in Germany. He was wounded in action on April 18th 1945, in the European Theater.

He was awarded the following:

  • Purple Heart,
  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star -and-
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

He received a disability discharge on August 2nd 1945, at the Baxter General Hospital in Spokane, Washington.
