Joseph T. Aubin

Mr. Aubin inducted into the Naval Reserve in August 1943. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.

He served as a Pharmacist Mate Second Class aboard the amphibious ship USS LST 58 (Landing Ship Tank or often affectionately called "Large Slow Target") in England and Europe. He participated in Normandy beachhead landings on D-plus-one where his LST unloaded Army personnel from the Fourth Infantry Division. 

From his diary on June 7, 1944: "Unloaded Army, received 150 casualties. Nine ships were sunk 100 yards from our ship."

Mr. Aubin was honorably discharged on January 5, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
