Knute A. Seitaniemi

Knute A. Seitaniemi entered the Army on September 17, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Embarrass, Minnesoat.

He served as a Private First Class and heavy mortar crewman with Company H of the 32nd Infantry Regiment at the Battle of Attu, Aleutians, and the Marshall Island Campaign in the Pacific.

He was wounded in action on February 2, 1944.

He was awarded the following: Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on September 3, 1945, at Galesburg, Illinois.
