Lawrence Clair "Bud" Van Hooser was born October 14th 1926, in Bancroft, Wisconsin to Henry and Mattie (Funk) Van Hooser.

He attended school in Bancroft, Wisconsin.

Mr. Van Hooser registered for service on October 17th 1944. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He rose to the rank of a TEC4.

On September 25th 1948, Bud married Mary Ann Smokrovich in Hibbing. Bud was a resident of Ely for over 50 years while working at Reserve Mining until his retirement.

He was a member of the Ely Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2717.

Lawrence "Bud" Van Hooser died suddenly Monday, October 11th 2004, at his home at the age of 77 He was buried at Ely Cemetery in Ely, Minnesota..
