Lawrence P. Simonich

Lawrence P. Simonich entered the Army on June 6, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant and squad leader with Company F of the 160th Infantry Regiment in Bismarck-Archipelago, Southern Philippines, and Luzon.

He received the following: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, five overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star.

He was honorably discharged on October 1, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
