HUGGER, Leland Clinton

Leland Clinton Hugger was born on August 23rd 1924 to Amos Pederson & Anna Mabel [Filbert] Hugger in Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Hugger was inducted into the Army Air Corps June 8th 1943, Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He was assigned the 489th Bomber Group during World War II.

He served as a refuel unit operator in the Air Offensive in Europe. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).

CPL Hugger earned the following merits for his service: the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star and World War II Victory Medal. 

He was honorably discharged December 1st 1944 from Percy Jones General and Convalescent Army Hospital, Battle Creek, Michigan. After the war he returned home and married Ida Eleanor [Fridberg]  and they started a family.

Mr. Hugger died on November 9th 1961 at the age of 37 years. He is buried at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Hibbing, Minnesota.
