Mr. Baudek inducted into the Army April 30, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and mess sergeant with Headquarters Company of the 271st Infantry Regiment in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.

Awarded: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.

Honorably discharged October 2, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
