Louis A. Palazzari of Eveleth was inducted into the Army on Jan. 15, 1942. He was a private and a rifleman with Company K, 339th Infantry Regiment, serving in Tunisia in North Africa and Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno and Northern Apennines in the Italian campaign. He received the European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with four bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars. He was discharged on June 25, 1945.
