Lowell R. Holmgren

Lowell R. Holmgren of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, entered the Army in January, 1944 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Sergeant and railway brakeman with Company C of the 750th Railway Operating Battalion in Rhineland and Central Europe.

Mr. Holmgren was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged May 17, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
