Matt E. Aho

Mr. Aho entered the Army on March 24, 1942. Home at entry: Floodwood, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant in charge of 60 mm. mortar squad with the 32nd Infantry Regiment of the Seventh Infantry Division in the Aleutian Islands, Philippine, and Marshall Island campaigns. He was wounded in action on Leyte.

He received the following: Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars.

Mr. Aho was honorably discharged on April 16, 1945, at McCaw General Hospital, Walla Walla, Washington.
