Melvin V. Newcomb

Melvin V. Newcomb was inducted into Army Air Corps on July 15, 1941.

He reached the rank of Master Sergeant.

He was an airplane maintenance technician, and an air crewman (gunner) in the 398th Bomb Squadron. He took part in the Air Offensive on Japan, and the Eastern Mandates in the Western Pacific.

Mr. Newman received the: Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Crew Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with 3 bronze battle stars, American Campaign Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.

He was discharged on November 19, 1945.
