He served as a Staff Sergeant and Medical NCO with the 64th Army General Hospital in Rome-Arno and North Apennines of the Italian campaign.

Awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battles stars, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.

Honorably discharged November 27, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
