Michael M. Malyuk served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 20, 1942, until January 14, 1946.

He was assigned to the VB-100 and VB-8 Bombing Squadrons in Carrier Aircraft Service Unit (CASU) 32. He served aboard the Essex-class aircraft carriers USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) and USS Bennington (CV-20). His rank was Aviation Radioman 1st Class.

Mr. Malyuk was awarded the: Philippine Liberation Medal with one battle star, Air Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal with three battle stars, Air Crew Wings with three stars, and Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Malyuk was born in 1923 in Mellen, Wisconsin, the son of Peter and Kathrine Malyuk. He graduated from high school in 1942.
