Michael R. Sterk

Michael R. Sterk entered the Army on September 16, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Gilbert, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and mess sergeant with the 9206th Mechanical Service Unit in Aleutian Islands, Northern Solomon Islands, and New Guinea.

He was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Sterk was honorably discharged on October 7, 1945, at Camp Beale, California.
