Michael Rocchio was inducted into the Army on July 21, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Kitzville Location, Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade and crane operator with the 652nd Port Company of the Transportation Corps in Canada and the continental U.S.

Mr. Rocchio was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal two overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on January 21, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
