Michael Vukelich

Michael Vukelich was inducted into the Army on June 28, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fouth Grade and auto mechanic with Headquarters and Service Troop of the 85th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

He was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.

Mr. Vukelich was honorably discharged on October 20, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
