KOSTICH, Milan

Milan Kostich was born on November 27th 1920 to Obren & Stanojka "Stella" [Jovanich] Kostich in Buhl, Minnesota.

Mr. Kostich entered into the U.S. Army in August 3rd 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home of entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a auto mechanic with Company A of the106th Infantry Regiment in ground combat in the Pacific. He rose to the rank of Sergeant (SGT)

SGT Kostich earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star,
  • World War II Victory Medal,   -and-
  • five overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged on December 23rd 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

Mr. Kostich died on March 8th 1998 at 76 years of age. He is buried at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minnespolis, Minnesota.
